Digital Talking Book Machine

The Warren Public Library has just received one of the new digital talking book machines supplied by Perkins Braille & Talking Book Libraray. It measures just  6 by 8 inches, is very lightweight and easy to use. The library’s machine will be used for demonstration to potential Talking Book users, who may at any time request their own free players. Current Talking Book users should also keep using their cassette players, however, until the selection of digital books grows larger.

Demonstrations can be requested in a person’s home by appointment or in the library during open hours: Tuesday and Friday 1:30 – 7:00, Wednesday 1:30 – 5:30 and Saturday mornings from 9:00 – 1:00. Talking books and the machines that play them are available for blind persons or others with vision problems, as well as for people with physical disabilities that interfere with holding books.
