Pilgrims, Puritans and Settlers

Join Ed Londergan at the Warren Public Library on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 6 to 7:30 PM for his presentation “Pilgrims, Puritans and Settlers.”

From the quiet days of Native Americans living on the land to the invasion of the Pilgrims, Puritans and all that came after them, the area that is now Massachusetts underwent tremendous change from the impact of that settlement. Learn about the interaction between the Pilgrims, Puritans and Native Americans and how their efforts, both good and bad, shaped Massachusetts and New England.

Covering the period from 1615 to 1720 the topics include: the Pilgrims, Massasoit and the early years; the Puritan mission of religion, wealth and adventure; Native Americans before, during and after English settlement; crime and punishment; King Philip’s War; The Great Rescue; everyday life.
